If only women can come together by lifting each other up, the world would be a better place.   One of the biggest issue we face  in the world today is women tearing other women down. Women break marriages! They criticize their fellow woman for every move she makes! Good or bad.      Still the same gender, being envious of her sister because she has what you don't.  This same men women fight over; don't give a rat’s ass about what you.  There is another woman waiting for you to be done fighting so she can snatch him away from you.  Women are great at building and also the best at tearing down. A woman will have a "mental beef" with you because you dated her husband so many years ago, and hate on you for no reason (well if only the reason is genuine). A married woman will envy her fellow married sister, because her husband  is rich or better looking. Why not make your man look good? Or help him in his business?   Why are women called...

On becoming Americanized I just realized that I have been Americanized in my way of thinking, how I dress, and how I talk. I have the “Najia” accent when I’m with my Nigerian folks and my American/fake British accent when I am being professional.  Talk about being transformed. As an immigrant to America, it was termed the “Land Flowing with Milk and Honey” . The land of opportunities. Of recent the land where I finally discovered what racism was and I was considered “Black/ African American”. On becoming Americanized in my thinking; I began to change the way I think. I stopped thinking like an immigrant. Where the main aim is to work like a mad dog, build a house in Africa you might barely live in (it is ok to own properties back home), and send money to family members struggling to put food on their table (in most cases to buy data and phone cards). With the stabbing to death of the Bowie State University Lt. Student who was scheduled to graduate this past Tuesday, was killed by another student at  the University of Maryland College Park. I followed the story because it was close to home for me for several reasons. 1              I am an alumni of UMCP 2              I am Black (I realized that I was black when I came to America) 3        I am a mother. These reasons are both personal and spiritual for me. Being an immigrant, we pray against poor witches and wizards who are dying of hunger in Africa, and seem to neglect the real issues of the country we migrated to. In the United States where I live, our problems are more than spiritual. It is more than witches attacking us and blah. As a praying mother, I pray for the safety for my children. FAITH....... How do you have faith when the signs says it all? How can you believe in someone or something that you can see?  FAITH!  We wake up from our sleep by faith. We go to work believing that we will get home safe and meet our loved ones. FAITH.......  Why faith?  The topic at Yesterday's Alpha session talked about faith and our belief that there is a God and he know us. Prior to the session, I pondered on the topic of faith and how it has been a very crucial aspect of my life, and how it has given me hope. FAITH according to Hebrews 11:1 " is the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."
