Chuck E. Cheese or Gas?

Image
The choices we make as parents are very crucial to both us and our kids. Last week Sunday, after attending my company picnic with the kids. When it was time to go, my 3 year old began his “NO! I DON’T WANNA GO” tantrum. I was ready to hit the road back to Baltimore and was tired from the night before. After much pleading and trying to bribe him with food, which he declined, I finally asked him if he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese, and immediately his answer was YES! For a month now, I have been lying to my son that I would take him to Chuck E. Cheese if he does what I tell him to do (that’s how bribery and deceit begins in the society! LORD HELP ME), as a kid, he believes and does as I requested. However, on this particular day, I had to fulfill my promise, because the bible tells us not to lie. On our arrival to the venue, his excitement went over the roof, as he was happy that we were finally heading to Chuck E Cheese.  Oh! I forgot to mention, my gas tank was on empty. On g

The Power of a Praying Parent

Image
It is time for parents to stay woke in prayers. Monitor your children, know what they watch. Know who they are talking to. Who are their Friends? Teach sex education before they go to elementary school. The world is coming for our babies. They are forcing their evil agenda on them. Rather than get distracted with all lives matter, focus on “my children's lives matter”. We are in evil times. Children are being taken advantage of. Parents are letting the media raise their children. Children are losing their identities because of what we parents watch. Feed your child with the word of God and the power of an identity rooted in Jesus Christ. Teach your children to be bold and speak up when evil is celebrated. Pray for your children like you've never done before. Teach them the importance of prayer. Sex is no longer the sacred topic. It is no longer on playboy magazine or on porn sites. It's on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat and other popular social media outlet. Paren

Sometimes you win, Sometimes you learn

Image
Most people never win, because they are more afraid of losing.  The human mind is designed to learn from repeated mistakes (I scratch that). Some human minds choose not to learn from their mistakes; hence they enjoy repeating the same mistake over and over again while ending up with the same results. I find the educational school system extremely fascinating. In school, we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making mistakes. Mistakes, failures, falls, valleys or whatever it is to you is only a path to success. The success stories we read or hear about today never gave up. Society celebrates screw-ups who choose not to give up. Here is a list of failures turned success. THOMAS EDISON -            Too stupid to learn anything (By teachers). -            Fired from his first 2 jobs for being non-productive  (My people will be like your village people are calling your name) -            Failed 1000 times in inventing the light bulbs that we use globally (1000 times?

Knowledge is Power

Image
Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, because it opens my mind to a new world, and a different dimension. My love for reading and writing began as a teenager in the hills of Owinni Oyo State, Nigeria. I read all sorts of books, mostly R-rated books (don’t judge). My mind went wild.  From Things Fall Apart, Chike and the River, The Lion and the Jewel, to books by James Hardly Chase (I don’t remember the titles). One popular read for me then Hearts Magazine (favorite column was Pamela), and Hints Magazine (if you were around in the 90’s, you know what I mean). Those magazines showed me what sex, love and heartbreak was about (I was not even in a relationship), but I already painted the sex moves and all based on what I read. I painted the picture of all that I read in those books . As I got older, my collection began to change. I began reading books to enhance my mind (after Hardly Chase), I started collecting books (strange but yeh). I spend my little petty money on cheap books from

Sunday Woman Feature (New Segment)

Image
One of my passions is female empowerment and seeing my fellow females soar. I will be starting a new segment on Sundays where I feature a female young and young at heart who is an overcomer, kicking butts in her space, talented and is working out her talent.  The reason for this feature is to encourage and empower women out there who are looking for someone positive to impact them.  In our society today, our upcoming queens are looking up to naked women and women whose talents are “side chicks” with no talents but making money (not hating). We need positive women who can let other women know that they can do it with their clothes on. So, I will be featuring women who inspire me (with their permission of course)  to share their stories.  So my female heroes, respond to my messages when I contact you (PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEE)

When I am 90

Image
When I am 90, I want to be able to move with my legs and not on a wheel chair or with a walker. When I am 90, I want to have wrinkles with silver hair, sags and all. When I am 90, I want to have my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren come visit me on weekends, where I tell them my stories. When I am 90, I will still be blogging, Facebooking, Instagraming and whatever new social media outlet is there. When I am 90, I want to have read over 10,000 books. When I am 90, I will compete in the older adults Olympics. When I am 90, I want to be able to care for myself, poop by myself, and do all that I am doing now in my 30’s. When I am 90, I want to travel the world with my old husband. When I am 90, I want to go dancing at the old peoples club on Friday nights. When I am 90, I want to be able to balance my accounts, and still invest my money and remain a billionaire. I know 90 is 59 years away for me. However, to get to 90, I have to start now. Live healt

Ms. Complain

Image
Ha! The reason why some of the Israelites didn’t make it to the promise land. COMPLAIN. Something I have been doing for a long time. I realized that I complained more than 100 times last week; such as “the school’s system is so old and are slow in sending my transcript” , “OMG! My children  keep messing up the room with their  books”, “I need more money”. Complain, complain, and complain. God hates when we complain about everything he has done for us. When the children of Israel were in Egypt, they complained about the slavery and how Pharaoh treated them. Hence, God sent them a savior in the name of Moses. They complained when they were leaving Egypt that they said to Moses, you could have left us there to die than take us back to Egypt to suffer (Read Exodus 16). After reading this chapter and learning about complaining, I began to watch what I complain about. We live in a world full of complaints. I can imagine the complaints department how many complaints they receive from peopl
